Practice-as-Research

The following works function as practice-as-research artifacts within the Embodied Cosmology® method. Inquiry in Motion documents collaborative, embodied research processes developed with Bodystormers from the University of Minnesota, where movement functions as a mode of inquiry and knowledge-generation. These works reflect Embodied Cosmology® in practice - learning, sensing, thinking, creating - while in motion.

This Documentary was created at a 10-Day residency at the National Center for Biological Sciences in Bangalore, India. All interviews, filming and video editing.

Process Studies: These process studies use photography and drawing as modes of observation, reflection, and inquiry within the Embodied Cosmology® method.

Role: Photographer Date: 1998

I spent about 45 minutes sitting in a field with these women and their daughters, marveling at the unique textures of one another’s hands. It was a quiet, intimate moment of connection, and this photo was taken with their consent about 2-hours west of Lhasa in Tibet.
